Inclusion of Rivers
editThis template is about transport. And some rivers are used or have been used for transport. But there is little evidence of this in most of the linked river articles. And I get the impression that some of the rivers and streams described are way too small to be navigable. Does this need sorting?. -- Starbois (talk) 12:18, 1 September 2010 (UTC)
- Short answer - Yes it needs sorting. Slightly longer answer - it's complicated... How do we define navigable almost all of them could be & have been used by people in canoes/small rowing boats, however not for commercial traffic. We also need to consider history as well as current state as several of these have been widened, diverted, had clyses added or removed etc over the years. The ones which could probably be removed include: River Aller, Cam Brook, River Frome, River Haddeo, Hoar Oak Water, River Holford, River Horner, River Isle, Midford Brook, River Sheppey, River Somer, Sowy River, Washford River, Wellow Brook, West Lyn River and Congresbury Yeo, and possibly River Cary, River Chew, East Lyn River and River Yeo (South Somerset).— Rod talk 15:01, 1 September 2010 (UTC)
