edit

Change parent clade from Exafroplacentalia to Placentalia, as the placement of the three major placental clades is still highly contentious. It seems best not to favour any one hypothesis here. At the very least there should be consistency, which there had not been prior to my recent editing of the Afrotheria and Xenarthra taxonomy templates. Zigongosaurus1138 You state "the placement of the three major placental clades is still highly contentious". The {{edit template-protected}} template states "Edit requests to template-protected pages should only be used for edits that are either uncontroversial or supported by consensus. If the proposed edit might be controversial, discuss it on the protected page's talk page before using this template."
A quick look at Exafroplacentalia and Boreoeutheria does nothing to clarify the situation.
Pinging Peter coxhead for a second opinion. But my response is
Not done: please establish a consensus for this alteration before using the {{edit template-protected}} template. WT:MAMMAL seems the best venue to gather that consensus. Cabayi (talk) 09:56, 19 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
I'm afraid I know little about the current taxonomy of mammals. I think the question of what should be the parent of Boreoeutheria is best posed at WT:MAMMALS. Peter coxhead (talk) 14:16, 19 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for the response. I will pose the question to WT:MAMMALS when I have some time. Zigongosaurus1138 (talk) 14:06, 20 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
