Space lost after separator when entry is unlinked

edit

I noticed that when this template appears on pages it links to, whatever mechanism is responsible for unlinking the current page entr(y|ies) is corrupting the text slightly (dropping a whitespace character).

The first entry in the |expand-China= section is normally formatted

Cuarteron Reef · Huayang Reef

but on the Cuarteron Reef article, that line displays as

Cuarteron Reef ·Huayang Reef

(Note the lack of whitespace following the dot, in the second example.)

I see that Template:· is used to place the separators, which is coded to precede the dot with   and follow it with (a normal space), a difference that's probably significant. But I don't know enough about the mechanism which does the on-page unlinking, or how it interacts with templates, to debug the lost space problem. The fix may be as simple as adding a space character after each {{·}} in the template code, but I'm feeling out of my depth on this.

ISTR there's a WikiProject or request page for requesting template-coding help from more experienced editors, and if I track it down I'll mention this there. But I wanted to note the bug here first, in case anyone already involved with this template can address the issue. – FeRD_NYC (talk) 23:36, 12 April 2015 (UTC)Reply
