Edit request edit

Can you please change "which" to "that", so that this template displays the correct grammar. "Which" must be preceded by a comma; if it cannot be, it should read "that". --IWI (talk) 16:23, 19 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

Template-protected edit request on 25 June 2021 edit

Per WP:HSOCK, which states that Only blocked accounts should be tagged as Category:Suspected Wikipedia sockpuppets and only upon sufficient evidence that would stand up to scrutiny., please replace

To add an account that has not been confirmed by a CheckUser, use {{Tlx|Sockpuppet|{}}} if the account has not been blocked or {{Tlx|Sockpuppet|{}|blocked}} if the account has been blocked.

with

To add a sockpuppet to this category, use {{Tlx|Sockpuppet|{}|blocked}}. To add an account that has not been confirmed by a CheckUser, use {{Tlx|Sockpuppet|{}}}.

Thanks. --Blablubbs|talk 20:36, 25 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Blablubbs: For the second sentence, why that, rather than {{Tlx|Sockpuppet|{}|confirmed}}? -- Tamzin (she/they) | o toki tawa mi. 20:47, 25 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Tamzin Oh, I'm sorry, I messed up. The correct wording is To add a sockpuppet to this category, use {{Tlx|Sockpuppet|{}|blocked}}. To add an account that has been confirmed by a CheckUser, use {{Tlx|Sockpuppet|{}|confirmed}}. --Blablubbs|talk 20:48, 25 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
Follow-up question, then, is why does that need to be noted? confirmed adds them to a different category, right? -- Tamzin (she/they) | o toki tawa mi. 21:01, 25 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
Fair point. I'm only filing this request because of the HSOCK violation and I'm not super familiar with category headers and what they should contain, but I have no objections to removal if you think it's unnecessary. --Blablubbs|talk 21:02, 25 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
  Partly done I've replaced the previous wording with your first sentence. As to the second, I'm not opposed to that, but probably could use a bit of discussion (or at least silent consensus) first. Also, it should take into account whether should have a corresponding reference to how to tag a suspected sock.
Two side-notes: One, still waiting to hear back at WT:CHK what the proper capitalization of "[Cc]heck[Uu]ser" is. Input welcome. Two, to further emphasize the policy you cited, it might be worth discussing at Template talk:Sockpuppet whether the parameter should be renamed to suspected instead of blocked (with backwards-compatibility). -- Tamzin (she/they) | o toki tawa mi. 21:12, 25 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
