Fouling edit

Does fouling count as a mechanical failure mode? 70.251.7.62 (talk) 22:36, 11 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

No response, so I'm going to BE BOLD! 70.251.32.227 (talk) 01:56, 7 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
Can't. Page is protected. Fooey! 70.251.32.227 (talk) 01:58, 7 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
  Done - Fouling added. DRAGON 280 (TALK/CONTRIBS) 20:18, 13 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Fouling is a failure mode. by the way all of Failure modes mentioned are, in principle failure causes. Mode is the manner in which part fails...cause is the physical reason why it failed. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 130.233.60.26 (talk) 07:09, 7 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Fouling is definitely a failure mode, although I assume my lecture notes don't count as a source —Preceding unsigned comment added by 129.188.33.26 (talk) 16:19, 12 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Edit request from {{subst:CURRENTUSER}}, 9 August 2010 edit

{{editsemiprotected}} Please change "Mechanical failure modes" to "Materials Failure modes" because the items in the list are not all mechanical. For example, corrosion is a chemical process.

Please see failure causes. Wizard191 (talk) 14:20, 9 August 2010 (UTC)Reply
Yep, I agree; seems fine. I've changed it, with a nod to WP:BRD.  Chzz  ►  14:42, 9 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

This ugly box... edit

could be made half as big. Also, the protection is not needed, as it is only transcluded on 19 pages, and the vandalism was over two years ago. Nirmos (talk) 11:16, 3 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Edit request from Errantchessman, 3 August 2011 edit

I request that Stress Corrosion Cracking be added as a mechanical failure mode, and Hydrogen Embrittlement as well. These are significant but often overlooked failure modes because they are latent until it is too late.

Please turn it into a bottom navbar edit

Please make this nabvox into a navbar to be placed at the bottom of articles. The top right corner of articles is prime screen space that should be used for pictures or tables related to the article itself. Thank you, --Jorge Stolfi (talk) 22:47, 24 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
