Template-protected edit request on 22 December 2021

edit

Case sensitivity

Please, edit the lines

 • | header1 = Preview release(s) and
 • | header1 = Preview release(s) <span class="plainlinks" style="font-size:smaller; margin:0px">[{{fullurl:Template:Latest preview software release/{{#if:{}|{}|PAGENAME}}}}?action=edit [±]]</span>

Changing #BETA to #Beta will result in

 • | header1 = Preview release(s) and
 • | header1 = Preview release(s) <span class="plainlinks" style="font-size:smaller; margin:0px">[{{fullurl:Template:Latest preview software release/{{#if:{}|{}|PAGENAME}}}}?action=edit [±]]</span>

So the link to Beta subsection (and the anchor) will be fine again. Grateful! Nishimoto, Gilberto Kiyoshi (talk) 07:00, 18 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

To editor Nishimoto, Gilberto Kiyoshi: 1) Did you forget to change the name of the template subpage in the edit template-protected template? And 2) did you forget to change "BETA" to "Beta" in the code changes above? I changed all that but I want to make sure it's what you want to edit. See this edit. To editor P.I. Ellsworth: Excuse me. I forgot to modify these lines when requesting. Your edit is correct. My request was just for change 'BETA' to 'Beta' on 'simple' and 'stacked' subpages of the main template. Sorry to ask you to modify an admin's edit but the subsection name is '#Beta' in the article and renaming the anchor would significantly impact other articles. I thank you for your attention and with respect I leave you my appreciation. Grateful! Nishimoto, Gilberto Kiyoshi (talk) 15:08, 24 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
Okay, and   Done. P.I. Ellsworth - ed. put'r there 15:22, 24 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
To editor Nishimoto, Gilberto Kiyoshi: I fixed the anchor at Software release life cycle#BETA just in case other similar links had been broken. Gentle reminder that section headers are themselves a type of "anchor" and are referred to as "section links", while the term "anchor" is used for all other types of anchor links, such as the one I fixed. There might be more like this, so please fix them when you find them. Thank you for your improvements to Wikipedia, and Happy Holidays to you and yours!
