Single color jersey

What is the option to show

  • Only the jersey (=shirt), and
  • In a single plain color?

I could find this: Template:Football_kit/pattern_list#Single_color. -DePiep (talk) 20:35, 26 April 2020 (UTC)

pattern_body AND pattern_collar

Hi all,
trying to reproduce South Korea kit in 1980 Asian Cup Final. [1]
I try to use two "body" patterns: _redcollar AND _redsides, but it seems not possible.
Why don't to add a further pattern in the "Football Kit" template, for instance:
| pattern_b = _redsides
| pattern_c = _redcollar
Thanks Genland PZ (talk) 14:07, 26 December 2020 (UTC)

AFC Whyteleafe Kit 22/23

Hello, is anybody able to produce this kit (but with green shorts) please? Tried using Coventry City's from 2019/20 as a template but I think it's stored as a standalone design. The green is 1f714b

28 August 2010 Rewrite of Football Kit/doc

In response to several MLS kits being overwritten with non-transparent, improperly named, club-specific patterns, I decided to take a stab at rewriting this page.

In general, I feel that the Specification section contains the same generic information that was included on the previous revision. In the rewrite I tried to clearly address how the template works with the intended audience of someone who is familiar with basic coding. I used a different set of templates as an example to show both "redstripes" style patterns and "stripesonred" style patterns.

The Best Practices includes all of the information from the previous revision as well as my personal view of how the kit patterns are best named in connection to how they are currently being used across Wikipedia. Please feel free to comment/change as necessary, I thought it would be best to start with something, but this is my first time doing a rewrite so if I messed it up, please feel free to do it the correct way on my behalf.

I rewrote the generic pattern section based on the previous revision. The previous revision didn't address club-specific patterns in any way. The way that kit templates are being used for major clubs is both to show the colors of the club, but also to show year to year differences (sometimes in great detail). I don't think it's reasonable for the major clubs to be shown with generic templates, especially when each season specific page shows the details from year to year. As these are some of the most well known brands in the world, I think they should be represented in as much detail as possible. For example, see the Manchester United F.C. article and the corresponding season articles starting with the 2010–11 Manchester United F.C. season and going back.

Either way, I'd like to know what you think.

That looks to be a massive improvement (though I'm not sure why the paragraphs are double-spaced). Thanks muchly - this is a difficult template to get one's head around, and anything which can be done to help with that is greatly appreciated. Fixed the paragraph spacing and a typo. Thanks for looking it over! Udeezy (talk) 19:29, 22 August 2010 (UTC)

I also updated the Template:Football_kit/pattern_list article with new instructions and categories to match the revised template documentation. Udeezy (talk) 21:06, 22 August 2010 (UTC)

Should the Template:Football_kit/pattern_list article be deleted in favor of a better categorization policy and links to the following category:   Media related to Football kit templates at Wikimedia Commons? Udeezy (talk) 22:32, 22 August 2010 (UTC)

It's worth considering. It is certainly not optimal to have to keep the pattern list updated manually. Try pinging WT:FOOTY for wider input. Chris Cunningham (user:thumperward: not at work) - talk 10:03, 23 August 2010 (UTC)
