I don't think it's broken.

• As of today, the only problem with "Ticket to Ride" was unrelated to this template. There was an extra set of braces following the Infobox stuff and they were appearing on the page. I deleted them and the page looked fine, including the music sample.
• The problem with Something's Going On is that this template was not designed for use with {{Infobox Album}}. As described in the documentation, it's supposed to be used with {{Infobox Single}} and {{Infobox Song}}. Evidently, the way "Misc=" is handled in {{Infobox Album}} is different. Template name

Is there a reason why the template is called "extra musicsample", with the last two words smushed together? Would I be in the minority if I asked for it to be moved to "Extra music sample"? – Kerαunoςcopia^◁_galaxies 04:16, 9 May 2010 (UTC)

Default quotation marks in title parameter?

Would it make sense to have the template default the quotation marks in the |title= parameter (similar to {{cite web}})? Thanks! GoingBatty (talk) 15:01, 24 June 2012 (UTC)

Multiple tracks

Is there any way to use the template for multiple tracks with the heading "Audio sample" appearing once as "Audio samples"? Squandermania (talk) 13:26, 24 February 2018 (UTC)

Include a merge notice

Jc86035: This doesn't need to be added to {{Audiosample}} anymore. Also, would it be possible to get a monthly error-type report for {{Extra music sample}}? It helps with the clean up. —Ojorojo (talk) 22:28, 11 July 2018 (UTC)

@Ojorojo: I've never made a monthly report but there are some other users who run bots for those. Is there something in particular that the tracking categories for {{Audio sample}} aren't doing? Should separate trackers be added to Extra music sample? Jc86035 (talk) 06:09, 12 July 2018 (UTC)

@Jc86035:: It's unclear what the problems may be in Category:Audio sample to be checked. Some of the |description= (same as |title=?) entries may repeat the info already in the infobox or are too long, but they are what the editors added (don't seem to be a reason to hold up the merger). @Ojorojo: I think how that was supposed to work was the template would get substituted and then other editors were supposed to manually remove the category from the substituted template through some means. This was because I found a lot of descriptions which were unnecessary because they didn't have any information that the header couldn't impart. @Jc86035: I thought these samples templates were going to merged using a bot, so the priority was fixing the problems that prevent the bot operation. Descriptions such as in this infobox don't repeat anything and help identify it. So, I don't think |description= should be removed from {{Audio sample}}; maybe <!-- optional --> or "see Parameters guidance" can be added to the Code section in the documentation to cut down on its overuse. Of course, many more, such as in this GA, are superfluous. However, I don't see that this is a priority for the merger. Once that is completed, clean up of the descriptions may proceed. —Ojorojo (talk) 16:40, 13 July 2018 (UTC)

@Jc86035: All instances of {{Audiosample}} have been converted to {{Audio sample}}, which was noted at WP:TFD/H "Arts 2017 May 10 – Audiosample"[1] (will that template be deleted?). Otherwise, I'm not aware of any other actions or discussions. —Ojorojo (talk) 17:16, 13 July 2018 (UTC)

@Jc86035: At 700+, {{Audiosample}} wasn't a good bot candidate. However, with 1,600+ {{Extra music sample}}, it seems appropriate. Additionally, the parameters are closer to {{Audio sample}}, which should make it easier. —Ojorojo (talk) 18:35, 13 July 2018 (UTC)

The comment about the TfD was made after mine and I was not aware of it. In light of that, I think that there is enough to move forward with this. @TheSandDoctor: Just to check, is DeprecatedFixerBot substituting {{Infobox single}} (which is supposed to be being merged)? @Jc86035: That is what you want, correct? And you can create a tracking category if you wish, but I have developed ways around that by grabbing the list of transclusions and running through that instead. Just requires an extra like 30 seconds work ;) --TheSandDoctor ^Talk 16:32, 30 July 2018 (UTC)
