ATTENTION:
The Berenstain Bears' spelling has been extensively confirmed to be spelled BerenSTAIN. Please do not change the spelling to any other version (eg. Bearnstein, Berenstein, etc.) Any attempts to do so will be immediately reverted. |
Berenstain Bears has a persistent problem of good-faith editors attempting to "correct" the spelling of the name Berenstain to "Berenstein", "Bearnstein", or other variation ending in "stein". I request an editnotice to reduce the number of these good-faith edits. Mmyers1976 (talk) 16:38, 31 May 2016 (UTC)
- On hold @Mmyers1976: I'm happy to make this edit notice (even if it's only true in this universe), but could you make it look a bit less jarring?
This doesn't pass WP:CONTRAST. See this tool.~ RobTalk 16:55, 31 May 2016 (UTC)- Actually, WP:CONTRAST isn't an issue because it isn't the text vs background that is jarring, but the color combination is still quite blaring. Something like Template:Editnotices/Page/List of ships of the Second World War would achieve the same "eye-catching" quality without visually assaulting our editors. ~ RobTalk 17:24, 31 May 2016 (UTC)
- Is the color a deal killer? I borrowed it from Template:Editnotices/Page/Muhammad which is an approved template. The object is, after all, to catch the attention of the random drive-by IP editors who keep making this "correction", I don't know what we gain by subtlety. Mmyers1976 (talk) 17:48, 31 May 2016 (UTC)
- I wouldn't say it's a deal killer (in the sense that another TE/admin would probably be happy to implement it), but the colors here are bright/jarring enough that they hurt my eyes on a screen with medium brightness. I don't think that's desirable. A sufficiently "cautionary" image (such as File:Imbox content.png) or even large text in another color (such as at Template:Editnotices/Page/Template:Did you know/Queue) can achieve the same effect. My point is that you don't need the bizarrely bright yellow to be non-subtle. ~ RobTalk 18:01, 31 May 2016 (UTC)
- Ok, how about the above? Mmyers1976 (talk) 18:24, 31 May 2016 (UTC)
- Done ~ RobTalk 18:36, 31 May 2016 (UTC)
- Thank you very much! Mmyers1976 (talk) 18:42, 31 May 2016 (UTC)
