Development base

edit

I do not see the value in adding {{Cite wikisource}} to the mix here. Would you add {{Cite web}} here because this template facilitates web links as well as wikisource links? Developing on a base of one general template makes sense, and {{Cite encyclopedia}} is the most logical one. I think {{Cite wikisource}} could be useful for linking to Wikisource articles that don't have dedicated templates for linking from Wikipedia, but shoe-horning it into the specialized templates that already exist just makes the code a mess I think. And now I'm looking at horridly cluttered citations with a whole list of editor links at the beginning. Please don't try to incorporate {{Cite wikisource}} here. The effort to generalize for different editions of NIE could be useful, but please keep the default being minimum of clutter as it is now. If someone is curious, the link to the article on NIE is right there and people can visit it. It does not obscure the citation to leave this out, and does not obscure the essential link, which is the link to the encyclopedia article. Bob Burkhardt (talk) 00:37, 22 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

Peck, H. T.

Shouldn't the editor's name be "Peck, H. T."? Vzeebjtf (talk) 23:49, 2 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

Encyclopedia name

edit

The encyclopedia's name is apparently The New International Encyclopedia (including "The"), so this template should also use that title. -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 13:10, 11 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
