Transnistria's political status is disputed. It considers itself to be an independent state, but this is not recognised by any UN member state. The Moldovan government and the international community consider Transnistria a part of Moldova's territory.
{{Transnistria note}} was created analogously to {{Kosovo note}}, since, like Kosovo, Transnistria's status should not be discussed every time Transnistria is mentioned in an article that does not deal directly with the Transnistria War, while this information should still be available for interested readers.
Usage edit
Immediately after (i.e. without including any space) the first instance of "Transnistria" in an article, add:

At the end of the article, preferably in a section with the heading == Notes ==, add:
