This template indicates that an article incorporates text from the third edition New Schaff-Herzog Encyclopedia of Religious Knowledge (1908–1914), which is now in the public domain.

This template is wrapper around {{cite Schaff-Herzog}}. In its default mode it attributes text to an article from the third edition of the New Schaff-Herzog Encyclopedia of Religious Knowledge.

This template calls {{cite Schaff-Herzog}} that automatically sets some of the parameters passed for example "publisher = Funk and Wagnalls Co". Over and above the standard parameter passed into {{cite Schaff-Herzog}} there are some additional parameters and those are listed below in a separate table from the table of parameters passed into {{cite encyclopedia}}.
