• openingname defaults to PAGENAME and can be left out
• image should be used to display Template:Chess diagram
• moves shows the distinguishing moves

• birth should specify the event where this opening was first used, or the first known documented mention of it.
• nameorigin specifies where the name comes from
• parentopening defines the hierarchical parent of this opening
• AKA provides alternative names for the opening
