Usage

Coats of arms of the Holy Roman Emperors (beginning with Frederick I, r. 1155–1190).

This template should be called by passing a variable to it for the emperor whose arms you want to display. Use one of the following variables:

Variables

• First variable (optional) : Emperor's name. If you spell it wrong, the template will just display a double-headed eagle.

  ex. {{HRE Arms|maximilian1}}

• Second variable (optional) : Image name (don't put Image:)

  ex. {{HRE Arms||Armoiries empereur Maximilien Ier.png}}

henry6	uncertain; the earliest depictions of the Staufer arms show a single lion; for a short time augmented to two lions, and after 1196 three lions or leopards.
