Usage edit

  1. Search on gbif.org/species for the subject you want.
  2. Click on the correct link to go to the subject's page.
  3. The page URL should look like https://www.gbif.org/species/#######, where "#######" indicates a number.
  4. Copy ONLY that number
  5. Add to the external links section the text:
* {{GBIF link|#######|species}}
where "#######" is the number you've copied, and "species" is the full name of the species in question, for example: Pogonomyrmex anergismus

Example edit

  1. Search for Pogonomyrmex anergismus on gbif.org. You'll get to this page: https://www.gbif.org/species/1325352
  2. Copy "1325352" and add this number as the first parameter, then copy "Pogonomyrmex anergismus" and add it as the second parameter:
{{GBIF link|1325352|Pogonomyrmex anergismus}}

The result on the page Pogonomyrmex anergismus is:

Pogonomyrmex anergismus at the Global Biodiversity Information Facility

Typically this is a list item in the external links section (even if there is only one link), so you should add "*" in front.
