Wonder Wheel

  • ... that Deno Vourderis, who operated Coney Island's Wonder Wheel, promised the ride to his wife as a gift 36 years before buying it? Source: Brooklyn Paper 2019
    • ALT1:... that the Wonder Wheel, which turns 100 this year, is part of Coney Island's last family-operated amusement park? Source: WSJ. I used WP:CALC to determine that it turns 100 this year, since it opened in 1920 according to the Deno's Wonder Wheel website.
    • ALT2:... that the Wonder Wheel, which turns 100 this year, has not experienced any significant safety incidents in its history? Source: Newsday 2015

  • Recently passed to Good Article status, and easily meets all criteria except that the nominator needs to satisfy his QPQ requirement. With that proviso, it is good to go. I think Hook No, 1 is more interesting than the others. Have tweaked it to "36 years." Originally it was "nearly four decades." I think the more precise number is preferable.
