Walter Alston edit

Alston in 1954

  • ... that baseball manager Walter Alston (pictured) signed 23 one-year contracts with the same team?

Recently promoted to GA, citations are fine, as is article length. Hook is well formatted and short enough. Hook is quite interesting. Picture works as well.

To me, this seems ready. Mind, this is my first DYK review. Zwerg Nase (talk) 16:59, 17 May 2015 (UTC)

  • The hook source doesn't say that he signed 23 one-year contracts, just that he never had a contract that was for more than a year. For all we know, he signed 6-month contracts too. Yoninah (talk) 21:27, 20 May 2015 (UTC)
    • Good catch. Silly mistake on my part. I've replaced the source in the lead with one that is more explicit about the nature of the contracts. The mention of the 23 one-year contracts is near the bottom of that article. Thanks for your attention! EricEnfermero (Talk) 00:09, 21 May 2015 (UTC)
  • Thank you. Hook ref verified and cited inline. I also ran the article through Earwig's Copyvio Detector and adjusted the one bit of close paraphrasing that I found. Good to go. Yoninah (talk) 00:30, 21 May 2015 (UTC)
