Review: New enough (created day of nomination), long enough, by policy. Problem is with the hooks. Original hook does not flow well and Alt1 is nicely written. But Alt1: 1. I corrected spelling of worshipers (from worshippers) so no big problem, 2. That line is not supported directly by citation and a citation needs to follow the sentence that starts "Then they offer lighted deeps...", 3. Since not all worshipers do the same thing according to the article, I think a new alt should specify where the earthen lamps are offered (as opposed to the flour lamps). Since Alt1 is fairly short, specifying the location should be possible. AbstractIllusions (talk) 17:29, 1 January 2013 (UTC)

ALT1 meets DYK requirements. (Worshippers is preferred usage and the single 'p' version doesn't even appear to be usually the case in U.S. news publications when I looked into it, they are inconsistent.) AbstractIllusions (talk) 17:18, 2 January 2013 (UTC)
