Tourism in Syria edit

The article was nominated on time and at 2978 prose characters, is more than long enough. However, as Daniel Case notes, the article needs a copyedit; without improvement, it should not be linked to from the main page, so there's no point in doing a detailed review here until the copyedit is complete. I'm also wondering why there is no mention of the deliberate destruction of a number of religious sites by ISIS, which I read and heard about a couple of years ago; won't future tourism be harmed by such places no longer existing as a tourism draw? - @BlueMoonset: Thanks for your review. I have done some copy-edit. And there is mention of Syrian Civil War in article which also includes ISIS. There is also mention of fact that various tourist places are destroyed in shelling. Moreover, page named List of heritage sites damaged during the Syrian Civil War is linked from article. --Human3015TALK 20:17, 20 December 2015 (UTC)
- Human3015, the edits you made were very minor, and they actually caused additional problems with the opening sentence. The entire article needs work; I recommend very strongly that you immediately file a request for a copyedit with the Guild of Copy Editors. - Human3015, I see that the Guild of Copy Editors have done their edits, and greatly improved the article's prose. However, there's a bare URL reference remaining, which is not allowed under DYK rules. Please let me know when you have filled in the reference. Thanks. - I've just done a significant edit to the article, adding facts and removing some information that seemed irrelevant or inappropriate. I've also just struck ALT1 (not supported in article) and ALT2 (present tense based on a 2013 report; for all we know refugees may no longer be in hotels). The original hook has some grammatical issues, so I'm relisting it below as ALT3; at this point, I think the article needs a new reviewer. BlueMoonset (talk) 18:15, 28 December 2015 (UTC)
