Overall: Looks good. No copyvio concerns. I can only imagine the monumental effort that went into summarizing the plots of those long books. I prefer the "androgynous" angle behind the first hook, although the wording seems a bit clunky, because what's "pictured" of course is not a pen name, but the author. But it works.
