Television in Croatia edit

I'm a speaker of Croatian, and can confirm the newspaper article cited corroborates the hook. However, the hook might need some tweaking. The 1939 Zagreb fair which de Vries visited does not seem to have included actual transmission of television signal (which wouldn't have made sense anyway since nobody in Zagreb owned a TV set back then). If I understand correctly, according to Jutarnji list article it seems that the Philips crew spent the first few days filming short clips in an improvised studio with local singers and musicians. These clips were then screened to visitors (including Ivan Šubašić) during the rest of the fair as a sort of a fairground attraction. So putting in something like "televised program" in lieu of "signal", and "shown" or "screened" instead of "broadcast" would probably be more accurate. Also, Dutch surnames with "van" and "de" are usually written in lower case ("Erik Klaas de Vries"). Apart from these details it's a great hook and an interesting and thorough article. - The source (27) says specifically "Jesenski zborski dani od 26. kolovoza do 4. rujna dat će u našem izložbenom gradu na Savskoj aveniji ono što je zasad moguće jedino u Londonu i Berlinu, a to je televizijska stanica za davanje, a ujedno i više aparata za bežično primanje" which translates to "Autumn fair days from 26 August until 4 September shall provide in our exhibition compound at Savska Avenue that which was until now possible in London and Berlin only, and that is a television transmission station and at the same time several apparatuses for wireless reception"... therefore broadcast should be fine. As far as capitalization of "de" in the surname is concerned, I stand corrected, nl:Erik de Vries is correct.--Tomobe03 (talk) 00:06, 9 January 2012 (UTC)
- I still don't think this should qualify as broadcasting. The program was entirely made at the Fair and the only place you could see it was at the Fair (for a nominal fee of 5 dinars). There was even a waiting room organized for visitors who came in for scheduled screenings. But if no one else is bothered by this, so be it. Timbouctou (talk) 00:13, 9 January 2012 (UTC)
