Occupy Harvard
edit- ... that Occupy Harvard provoked administrators to lock down Harvard Yard (pictured) for six weeks in 2011?
- Reviewed: Worker policing
- Comment: Would make sense to run this one on 9 November (2012).

- The caption about the man removing the sign seems to have an OR aspect. The article implies that its author was there and involved with the incident. Also, the present tense there is a bit weird. Also I'm not sure about the copyright status of that image. Abyssal (talk) 16:28, 18 October 2012 (UTC)
- The library image, as well as the images from Thayer Gate, are taken from correctly licensed YouTube videos. (I was totally thrilled to see on Wikimedia Commons that these are fair game.) So I guess in some ways that caption is also an interpretation based on seeing the video that it comes from. It does read a little weird though. (Although I'm sure the guy is Harvard security, he won't identify himself for some reason.) OK, I tweaked it a little (and added a wikitext explanation of the image sourcing, which I expect will become more common). groupuscule (talk) 17:25, 18 October 2012 (UTC)
- What were the changes to Harvard's library that raised protests? The article doesn't really make it clear. Abyssal (talk) 12:40, 22 October 2012 (UTC)
- Good point. I added a little detail to the top of the section to clarify. To be honest, I couldn't tell you every single problem they had with the library system, especially since they started doing the think tanks. (I wasn't there and I'm reluctant to base that on just primary sources.) But it's definitely clear that general funding cuts were an issue, and particularly the layoffs that these would cause. groupuscule (talk) 14:12, 22 October 2012 (UTC)
- Also, this doesn't make sense: "A survey conducted by students in Statistics 104 suggested that students had a low opinion of the group: 2.85 out of 10" Abyssal (talk) 14:06, 22 October 2012 (UTC)
- ---> "A survey conducted by students in Statistics 104 suggested that student approval of Occupy Harvard averaged 2.85 on a scale of 1–10." How's that for speedy service? groupuscule (talk) 14:12, 22 October 2012 (UTC)
- Okay, I still have some more reviewing to do though, I'll get back to you. Abyssal (talk) 14:53, 24 October 2012 (UTC)
- There's some hook issues; nowhere in the artcile does it specifically say that the lockdown was six weeks long and the closest statement isn't followed immediately by a citation. Abyssal (talk) 15:02, 30 October 2012 (UTC)
- Added two citations under Departure saying the Yard was (partially) reopened on 22 December 2011. groupuscule (talk) 22:00, 30 October 2012 (UTC)
- This is good to go, but would you like to run it on a relevant anniversary since some of the dates mentioned in the article still lie ahead in the year? Abyssal (talk) 15:32, 1 November 2012 (UTC)
- November 9 makes sense to me! groupuscule (talk) 14:34, 2 November 2012 (UTC)
