Neisha Pratt edit

Converted from a redirect by Joseph2302 (talk). Self-nominated at 19:10, 31 March 2016 (UTC).

  • Article was moved to mainspace within 7 days of 31st March. The article passes the length check (1557 characters). Article is neutral and thoroughly referenced. There is no close paraphrasing or plagiarism. Both suggested hooks are below maximum length. I think the Alt hook is more interesting. QPQ done. (Edit: Sorry, that was me. • Hi, I came by to promote this, but don't see anything about Pratt being the first captain of the Hong Kong women's national cricket team. If that's what's meant in the first paragraph under Career, doesn't that say their first official match was in 2009 ... when she captained the team from 2006? Additionally, footnote 1, the inline cite in the lead for the dates of 2006 to 2011, doesn't say anything about her being captain, and also includes other years. Where can I find the hook fact in that source? Yoninah (talk) 21:35, 30 April 2016 (UTC)
Hi, I was looking at the references on the Neisha Pratt article, not the Hong Kong Women's Cricket Team articles. There's this reference - https://web.archive.org/web/20160401181458/http://archives.dailytimes.com.pk/sport/17-Sep-2006/hong-kong-girls-take-on-pakistan-for-a-cricket-world-cup-place (which I've just update with the archive link on the page) and this - http://www.hkcricket.org/en/article/Hong-Kong-Women-Representative-Cap-Numbers/3/168/ which again back up the 2006 info. This reference http://www.asiancricket.org/index.php/tournaments/acc-womens-twenty20-championship-2011/2141 has her being captain in 2011 (I'll add this reference in once I post this.) • Sorry, you cannot add a ref that says she captained in 2006 and another ref that says she captained in 2011 and assume that the extent of her captaining career was between 2006 and 2011. You need a source that specifically states that. Also, the first sentence under Career needs to be corrected if she did not "debut" in 2009 and then (in the following sentence) captain the team the next time in 2007. In that case I'm not sure how to fix it unless someone has a copy of Wisden. Red Fiona (talk) 20:51, 1 May 2016 (UTC)
  • It's commendable that you're working so hard on a nomination that's not even yours. I've pinged the nominator but have not yet heard from him. It appears that a new hook should be proposed. Yoninah (talk) 21:36, 1 May 2016 (UTC)
Yoninah How about: ALT2: ... that Neisha Pratt captained the Hong Kong women's national cricket team in their first official match in 2006?

That hook is supported by [1]. I've also cleared up that her debut was in 2006, not 2009 (the match was a prequalifier for 2009 Tournament). Also, apologies for late reply and thank you to Redfiona99 for helping in my absence. Joseph2302 (talk) 16:18, 2 May 2016 (UTC)

  • Thank you, that works. ALT2 hook ref verified and cited inline. ALT2 good to go. Yoninah (talk) 17:47, 2 May 2016 (UTC)
