Michael Roemer
edit- ... that independent filmmaker Michael Roemer paid just $5,000 to acquire the rights to use Motown hits for his 1964 film Nothing But a Man?
- ALT1:... that independent filmmaker Michael Roemer's two biggest box office hits were movies he'd made decades earlier?

- Comment: I will have little or no Internet access for the next several days, possibly till October 30.

- Article appears good to go. It was made within the last five days, is of suitable length and uses valid sources to cite the DYK being made. There are no images attached to the article and generally it is coherent and reads well. I personally prefer the first hook as I find it more interesting and 'hookier', and it comes in within 200 characters. The only issues I have with the article are the use of imdb and the person's work profile as cites in the article. Neither of these effect the notability or the hook or the article, but I feel they are weak cites, as they can be changed by others without verification. - I have removed the IMDB refs and am in the process of looking for replacements for the Yale University refs. I know I found the information cited elsewhere, but under a time pressure when I was writing, I left it alone. The Guggenheim Fellowship was the only fact I didn't see elsewhere, but I will look again. Marrante (talk) 22:15, 27 October 2011 (UTC)
- I have now replaced the Yale University refs and moved the Yale ref to the external links section. I'm not sure if I agree that the ALT1 hook has more punch than the main — depends, perhaps on a person's assumption of what a soundtrack of Motown hits might cost, or maybe that one knows what Motown is (was?).
