MGM-Pathé Communications

edit

5x expanded by MichaelQSchmidt (talk). Self nominated at 06:18, 15 July 2014 (UTC).

  • Confirmed that the 10x expansion occurred in the last seven days. There's a close paraphrasing issue; the second sentence of the history section (starting from ...repurchased) is an almost direct quote from Hollywood Story. The start of the third paragraph ("In July 1993...") is ungrammatical and partially unreferenced; I can find no reference to John Calley in A New Pot of Gold and it's unclear to me who he's replacing (or if he was in fact replaced). It would help verification if you used {{rp}} with book sources but that's a personal preference. There's another close paraphrasing issue with Kerkorian's 1996 repurchasing and with the boosting of the MGM film library. I couldn't verify that MGM/UA Home Video lasted until 2004, and it's not clear to me how that related to the rest of the narrative. The hook is verified and long enough; a hook focusing on Parretti's questionable background might be more eye-catching. Mackensen (talk) 22:31, 18 July 2014 (UTC)
