Literary Hall
edit- ... that Literary Hall (pictured) in Romney, West Virginia, was built by the Romney Literary Society in 1870, and has served as a Masonic lodge and community library?
- Reviewed: William G. Farrow
5x expanded by West Virginian (talk). Self-nominated at 18:57, 11 July 2015 (UTC).
- Primary prose text has been expanded from approximately 2600 characters to nearly 15,000, easily exceeding the five-fold text-expansion criteria on July 11 and 12, 2015. Article text is adequately sourced, neutral in tone and substance, and is free of close paraphrasing, copyright violations and plagiarism.
- The proposed hook is interesting, neutral, and supported by referenced article text. The hook consists of 136 characters. The nominator cites a QPQ review for an article already reviewed.
- Given the relative obscurity of the subject, and the relative brevity of the hook, I would suggest adding the subject's location (Romney, West Virginia) to the hook in order to give it some additional context. Dirtlawyer1 (talk) 13:07, 14 July 2015 (UTC)
- Dirtlawyer1, per your suggestion, I've added Romney, West Virginia to the hook. -- West Virginian (talk) 13:13, 14 July 2015 (UTC)
- I'm not requiring the addition, but I do think it's a good one. Also, do you know if the "(pictured)" parenthetical counts against the character count for the hook? That would be good to know for future reference. Dirtlawyer1 (talk) 13:18, 14 July 2015 (UTC)
- The "(pictured)" parenthetical does count toward the hook's character count. Thank you for the review and the suggestion! -- West Virginian (talk) 13:39, 14 July 2015 (UTC)
- FYI: The word (pictured) and the three ellipses do not count toward the 200 character count, per Wikipedia:Did you know#The hook (third point under Format). Yoninah (talk) 21:35, 20 July 2015 (UTC)
- Yoninah is right, and I stand corrected! Thanks Yoninah! In either case, this hook meets the length requirement, so it's good to go! -- West Virginian (talk) 22:06, 20 July 2015 (UTC)
- @Dirtlawyer1: This hook may be lingering on the vine due to our lengthy discussion following your initial approval. Would you mind confirming your assessment at the bottom with a fresh tick to avoid confusion? Thank you again for the review! -- West Virginian (talk) 17:18, 3 August 2015 (UTC)
- All technical requirements for this nomination were satisfied three weeks ago, on July 14, 2015. This DYK is ready for further processing. Good to go! Dirtlawyer1 (talk) 17:23, 3 August 2015 (UTC)
