Joseph Backler edit

  • ... that at the age of 18 Joseph Backler was sentenced to death for forgery, but lived as a convict and then painter to age 82?

Moved to mainspace by Rubicon49bce (talk), Jeanstshirt (talk). Nominated by 99of9 (talk) at 00:30, 16 August 2013 (UTC).

  • Article - moved to main space on 15 August, so new enough; 2708 characters of readable prose, so long enough; neutral; at least one inline citation to every paragraph; no copy vios detected using earwig and duplication detector; assessed as start class, so not a stub.
  • Hook - within length criteria at 123 characters; correctly formatted; correctly cited/supported by ref #4 in 'early life' section and ref #3 (AGF but it's also covered in the other refs) in 'Life in Australia' section, doing the maths wasn't hard ; and interesting.
  • Not a self nom, so QPQ not required; no image submitted in the nomination.
Looks fine; one thing I like about doing DYK reviews is getting to read interesting articles like this and reading the fascinating refs! SagaciousPhil - Chat 11:34, 16 August 2013 (UTC)
