  • Alt1 ... that Guth's Au Bois de Boulogne (pictured) shows a fashionable crowd including the courtesans Liane de Pougy and La Belle Otero?

  • GTG. New, long & neutral enough. Pic ok. Hook ok on agf & image file. Nice article. Earwig picks up nothing. The cycling courtesans might make a more compelling hook but whatever. Johnbod (talk) 16:39, 15 January 2019 (UTC)
  • Johnbod, thank you for a good suggestion. Can you spare the time to review Alt1 as well? Moonraker (talk) 22:45, 16 January 2019 (UTC)
  • I'm just a bit concerned that the ladies named might not be mounted. This much better NPG zoomable image (Sellotape and all) allows the names in the legend to be read, but that does not entirely solve the issue of who is who. I suspect de Pougy is the left beret & red bow tie at the front, but Otero standing behind her in frilly orange with parasol. What do you think? Johnbod (talk) 23:02, 16 January 2019 (UTC)
  • Johnbod, that’s a good find. You could well be right, but I have just groaned on finding Colonel Gibert’s name aligned with a sporting brunette on a bicycle. No problem, I have tweaked Alt1 to take out the claim that these young ladies are mounted in the print. Moonraker (talk) 17:17, 17 January 2019 (UTC)
  • That works! GTG on either hook, but Alt1 seems better (and, fond as we all are of Queen Victoria, likely to get much higher views). With the French Army at that period, almost any figure in the crowd could be a colonel. Johnbod (talk) 17:49, 17 January 2019 (UTC)
