Armley Hippo skeleton
... that the Armley Hippo (pictured), a native Yorkshire hippopotamus over 100,000 years old, was taxidermy-mounted by James Dickinson MBE? Source: (1) Guardian newspaper, "Leeds Hippo (its former name) ... It's thought they once roamed in the area close to Armley Gyratory, one of the busiest road intersections on the outskirts of the present day city (of Leeds) ... flourished over 100,000 years ago". and (2) Dickinson interviewed in 2008 when the hippo skeleton was mounted: lancashire.gov.uk, p.6, "I will soon start on some hippo bones which are over 120,000 years old". and (3) in the book Conservation of Leather, "James Dickinson ... in 1990 he was appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire".

Overall: Both articles are new enough, long enough and well sourced. The hook is cited and interesting. I reversed the word order in ALT1 to make it flow better but no major changes are needed. Earwig does not turn up any copyvio besides block quotes. There's just two small issues with the nomination before it can be approved. The first is that the photo is not clear enough, the main photo from the Armley Hippo article would work much better. The second is that this is a double nomination, so two qpqs are needed. Once these are fixed the nomination will be good to go! BuySomeApples (talk) 23:57, 12 August 2021 (UTC)
