Htupayon Pagoda

  • ... that the Htupayon Pagoda of Sagaing has been hit by at least five major earthquakes, and rebuilt three times? Sources: An academic journal article (Moore, Win Maung 2016: 167, 169) gives five earthquakes; a Burmese newspaper (MNA 2016) adds two more: 863 ME and 874 ME.

  • The article is qualified for DYK because it is new, not because it was 5x created (so I changed that). QPQ done, both hooks are interesting. Most citations are books that I don't have access to, but I will assume good faith because the references look accurate. Copyvio is still down... but this passes.
