Hikaru Natsumi

  • ... that Hikaru Natsumi retired from modeling after being arrested for indecent exposure upon stripping nude in public for a photo shoot? Source: "菜摘ひかるの可憐な"たたかい", Bungei
    • ALT1:... that Hikaru Natsumi contributed to adult comics magazines while still in high school? Source: "菜摘ひかるの可憐な"たたかい", Bungei
    • ALT2:... that Hikaru Natsumi's blog, The Sexual Adventures of Hikaru Natsumi, was published as a book in 1998? Source: "菜摘ひかるの可憐な"たたかい", Bungei

  • Is this actually notable? Most of the references are just her works, which don't appear to meet NAUTHOR. Furthermore, I do not think this is a good hook, while she may be dead some years, I don't think pointing out her career ending with an arrest for indecency is the sort of thing we should be pointing out at DYK. If she is notable, I think a better hook would be acknowledging her Blog/books. CaptainEek Edits Ho Cap'n! 01:10, 4 June 2021 (UTC)
  • @CaptainEek: Natsumi was covered in the Chunichi Shimbun (one of the big three daily newspapers in Japan) and was the subject of an issue of Bungei (a major Japanese literary magazine), so WP:NOTE is clearly established through coverage in reliable secondary sources. The article contains the number of primary sources it does (in this case, references from the National Diet Library) solely for the purpose of citing her bibliography. I've added an alt hook, but I still think the original is the most compelling. Morgan695 (talk) 02:59, 4 June 2021 (UTC)
  • @Morgan695: Thanks for parsing the notability :) I like the ALT hook even less I admit, it seems to also intimate a criminal action. While I will not fail this, I leave it to another reviewer as I believe neither hook appropriate. She isn't notable for criminal actions and I don't think we should be showing those off. • I'll review this article. Article is written with more than 1500 characters in prose and statements are neatly sourced. Article was nominated within 7 days of creation. User passes QPQ. Offline sources are accepted in good faith and I found no copyright errors. Regarding CaptainEek's concerns about hooks, I agree that the original nominated hook should not be used unless it went through some rewording as her notability is not tied to criminal activity. I'm kind of ambivalent on ALT1, though. I can see why there might be some discomfort with some users regarding this. Can you come up with another hook in the meantime? lullabying (talk) 06:35, 17 June 2021 (UTC)
  • @Lullabying: I added an alt hook, but I'd be remiss not to note that Natsumi's public profile was built in large part on being provocative, so it naturally follows that any hook establishing her notability is likely to be provocative in some way. Morgan695 (talk) 16:27, 17 June 2021 (UTC)
That's totally fine and it's advised you should reword hooks based on that instead of focusing any criminal activity. I'm OK with both ALT1 and ALT2. I think CaptainEek's concerns with ALT1 is regarding Natsumi's age while interacting with adult content but Wikipedia is not censored and her age was not directly stated (i.e. 18 year olds can be high school students too). I think this is good to go and I'll leave the hook to whoever promotes the article. lullabying (talk) 01:02, 19 June 2021 (UTC)
