Herdla Airport

edit
  • ... that in 1942 a German pilot, drunk from a party, crashed his plane at Herdla Airport, a Nazi German military airport in Norway, causing the operations center to burn down?

Created by Arsenikk (talk). Nominated by Carabinieri (talk) at 04:44, 29 October 2014 (UTC).

  • Article: Recent, easily long enough (it's nice not to have to use the page size tool!), no copyvios, sufficient inline citations, neutral in tone. I'm unable to check the sources, but am more than happy to AGF given the page's author. Hook: interesting, short enough and BLP compliant (I'm guessing the pilot isn't still around...) but not sourced (per Criterion 3b, it needs an inline reference at the end of the sentence). Also needs a QPQ (or a note to explain why it isn't necessary). Yunshui  11:52, 29 October 2014 (UTC)
Instead of repeating German (with the quite odd "Nazi German"), it might be an idea to simply call it a "Luftwaffe airport in Norway", making the hook:
Alt: ... that in 1942 a German pilot, drunk from a party, crashed his plane at Herdla Airport, a Luftwaffe airport in occupied Norway, causing the operations center to burn down? Manxruler (talk) 01:22, 30 October 2014 (UTC)
ALT2: ... that in 1942, a drunk pilot crashed his plane at Herdla Airport in occupied Norway, burning down the operations center? Maury Markowitz (talk) 12:50, 4 November 2014 (UTC)
  • @Arsenikk and Carabinieri: hooks are still awaiting inline attribution. Could someone please address this? QPQ is not required because this is not a self nomination. Fuebaey (talk) 19:00, 22 November 2014 (UTC)
    • I have added a redundant reference to meet criteria. Alt2 seems to be the best worded so far. Arsenikk (talk) 10:07, 3 December 2014 (UTC)
Citation's good - however @Fuebaey: I'm not aware of an exception to the QPQ rule for non-self nominations. The rules as written only allow an exception for users with fewer than five DYKs, and both Arsenikk and Carabinieri are far beyond this ceiling (from the way the rules are phrased, I believe it is Carabinieri's responsibility to provide the QPQ review). If I'm wrong, please point me at the exception that I've missed; I haven't been able to find it. Yunshui  10:27, 3 December 2014 (UTC)
@Yunshui: Apologies, I should've been more specific. There's no obligation for a QPQ by non-self nominations made prior to 21 November, as per this RFC, though the nominator can provide one if they choose to. Fuebaey (talk) 13:23, 3 December 2014 (UTC)
Ah, I hadn't seen that. Thank you, Fuebaey. Reckon this nomination is good to go, in that case. Yunshui  13:30, 3 December 2014 (UTC)
