Grand Tower Island

edit

Floodplain fields on the island. River bluffs in Illinois are visible in the distance.

  • ... that Grand Tower Island (pictured) is located on the "wrong" side of the Mississippi River?
  • ALT1:... that Missouri's Grand Tower Island (pictured) lies on the Illinois side of the Mississippi River?
  • ALT2:... that Grand Tower Island (pictured) is located across the Mississippi River from the rest of Missouri?

  • Comment: I'd really prefer the first hook.

  • This is a comprehensive and well written article that utilizes proper sources and internal citations, and it's long enough and new enough for inclusion in DYK. The first hook works well, and the user will be able to ascertain what "wrong" side means once they've clicked on the link in the hook. The image also meets DYK guidelines and the QPQ has been completed. -- Caponer (talk) 21:38, 10 November 2013 (UTC)
