Ferreirasdorp

edit
  • ... that Ferreirasdorp is the oldest part of Johannesburg, but as the city expanded it ultimately became "synonymous with practically everything that is vile and violent" about Johannesburg?

5x expanded by Underlying lk (talk). Self nominated at 03:49, 7 May 2013 (UTC).

  • Article has been expanded more than 5x, is recent enough, and is long enough and well-sourced. Hook is interesting enough and referenced albeit partly offline. I am wary about claims about being the oldest/first/etc as there are often competing such claims. Could you include a quote from the book about being the oldest (add field "quote=" inside citation template)? I suspect "part" is not the correct word to use here as I am sure all parts of the city are equally old. It may be the oldest suburb or site of settlement? Google searches only indicate it is "one of the oldest suburbs". Helen (talk) 09:51, 9 May 2013 (UTC)
  • I found an online source which I have cited in the article. Ready for DYK. Helen (talk) 07:48, 10 May 2013 (UTC)
