Fatimid conquest of Egypt

  • ... that the Fatimid Caliphate prepared their conquest of Egypt in 969 through a long and patient propaganda effort, so that the actual conquest was swift and almost unopposed? Source: cf. last part of 'Fatimid propaganda in Egypt' for source sand quotes on the propaganda and the relative ease of the conquest, and 'Occupation of Fustat' for the brief and ineffectual opposition offered.
