Empire of Thessalonica edit
- ... that the bid of the Empire of Thessalonica to recover Constantinople and re-establish the Byzantine Empire failed when it was defeated by the Bulgarians at the Battle of Klokotnitsa?
- ALT1:... that although the short-lived Empire of Thessalonica was founded from the Despotate of Epirus, within a decade Epirus had broken free as a separate state?

- Long enough and newly created. (I can hardly believe we did not have an article about it before!) I have access to the major source (Fine) and can both verify the references and confirm that there is no close paraphrasing. The DYK rules might, however, require an inline citation following the second sentence in the second pararaph of the second section (which appears to be the basis of the original hook).
