Directorate of National Coordination

edit
  • ALT1:... that the Laotian Directorate of National Coordination served as civil police, immigration service, national police, and military intelligence service?
  • ALT2:... that policemen from the Directorate of National Coordination were co-opted into an airborne army unit?

  • Editorial Comment: I prefer the original hook over ALT1; the latter is offered in case the original is too ambiguous. The choice then is actually between two hooks—ALT2 and one of the others. In any case, the article describes a wartime situation where all the police forces are lumped into one, and subsequently come to rival military power. All with the standard conniving that characterized Laos in that era.

  • Newness: Good. Length: Long! Policy: Apparently good. I'll have to AGF on the offline sources. Hook: I like Alt 1. The first thing I thought when seeing the hook as proposed was "Directorate of National Coordination of what country?". Alt 2 is a bit more flavorful but lacks enough context to be meaningful to the average person. This should be good to go. Abyssal (talk) 19:43, 11 March 2015 (UTC)
