5X expanded by Mr Tan (talk). Self-nominated at 13:48, 8 September 2015 (UTC).

  • DYK checker says "Assuming article is at 5x now, expansion began 19 edits ago on August 25, 2014". The first part of the second hook is not mentioned in the article. No plagiarism detected. The party's registration was officially approved on 1 April 2014, so I don't think it would be technically correct to use March 2014 in the first hook. Both hooks are within acceptable limits. Article uses at least 1 inline citation per para and is written in neutral manner. QPQ also needs to submitted.--Skr15081997 (talk) 09:59, 20 September 2015 (UTC)
Thanks. I"ll accept using April 2014 as the start date (amended as well). If the first hook is fine, then I don't think you may need to consider 2nd hook. Anyway for the 2nd hook you can just do away with the "former Prime Minister of Cambodia" part if very stringent citation rules are required; this point was cited in the "N Ranariddh" article. But what do you mean by QPQ? Mr Tan (talk) 13:04, 20 September 2015 (UTC)
@Mr Tan: QPQ means that you need to review another DYK nomination. I saw that you have received several DYK credits before, so you are required to submit a QPQ. Also, please sort out the 5x expansion thing, add more details to the article.--Skr15081997 (talk) 15:20, 20 September 2015 (UTC)
I believed that in terms of prose length, I have met the 5X expansion requirement. If you look at revision #670687377, there were 111 words, while in revision #680066623, there are 680 words. Mathematically, this is a 6X expansion and I don't see why I failed on this point. I have basically covered whatever scope that may possibly be covered - the History being the main crux, with the Ideology and Logo as supplementary content. I also hope you can understand that this political party did not even exist for one full year, and hence the extant of available content out there would be quite limited. I have seen DYKs that are even shorter - take this article for example Nina Yang Bongiovi - it's not even 300 words in length. Mr Tan (talk) 15:39, 20 September 2015 (UTC)
QPQ done @ Template:Did you know nominations/Zabeen Hirji Mr Tan (talk) 17:13, 20 September 2015 (UTC)
  • QPQ has been provided.@Mr Tan: this revision had 887 characters. 5x expansion means that at least 4435 characters should be present. The current version has 4262 characters. You can add info about Norodom Ranariddh being a former PM, his term in office and the reason he was away from politics before 2014. Regards, --Skr15081997 (talk) 11:41, 21 September 2015 (UTC)
I have no contentions with the 5X expansion rule, but I am puzzled by your line of interpretation of using version 1 (February 2015) as the base instead of version 2 (July 2015). I wrote the article from the same day on 8 September and submitted this nomination on 10 September. I expanded the article in September, and based the 5X expansion rule on the immediate predessor version, which is "version 2 (July 2015)". I can't see why just because I had a much earlier edit going back to February 2015 in version 1 would entail tying me down to the word count based on version 1.
If that is the case, I would have considered "started" expansion in February when I removed the content, and consequently make this DYK ineligible as per rule 1a "For DYK purposes, a "new" article is no more than seven days old." The reason why I removed the content in February was because the content sounded very much like an opinion piece, not really directly relevant to the article's topic. It has nothing to do with DYK, and hence I find your reasoning very baffling. (It would have been more relevant for Norodom Ranariddh.) If there is specific rules linking involvement from the first edit that the author made to the article, please quote the page and line to me, and I would be happy to know. I hope you can reconsider if otherwise. Mr Tan (talk) 05:40, 23 September 2015 (UTC)
Note: Reintroduced the clause "former First Prime Minister" into Alt1, since it was quoted in source used in article [1] Mr Tan (talk) 05:44, 23 September 2015 (UTC)
OK, since the article is 4418 characters long now, I feel that this should be Good to go.--Skr15081997 (talk) 10:39, 25 September 2015 (UTC)
