Banner Lane
edit- ... that Banner Lane was the site of one of the largest WWII UK shadow factories with over 1 million square feet of floorspace....?
- ALT1:... that over 3 million tractors were built at Banner Lane before production ceased in 2002?
5x expanded by Eddaido (talk) Red Sunset (talk). Self-nominated at 18:37, 7 February 2016 (UTC).
- Review New and long enough. Timely nominated. Almost a 10X expansion confirmed. Hooks are both interesting, although I think "shadow factory" should be linked (that is a matter of taste and judgment), as many readers will be clueless. There is a countervailing argument that it makes the hook mysterious, more interesting and hookier. I think that there is too much close paraphrasing of the one on line source in the article. So copy editing, word substitution, reformatting and cuisinarting is called for. I did not have access to the off line sources, and I WP:AGF. The hook is cited and verified to the on line source. All paragraphs are cited. However, I don't see a QPQ, and believe one is required. Nominator's user page shows six DYKs. 7&6=thirteen (☎) 19:23, 7 February 2016 (UTC)
- Its been a few years since I was relatively active on wiki and simply had a bit of spare time on my hands to make a few contributions; however, I wouldn't consider myself a competent reviewer so I guess my DYK application ends here. If I'd noticed the QPQ requirement I wouldn't have made the application in the first place, but thank you for your time and comments nevertheless! - Cheers Red Sunset 20:09, 7 February 2016 (UTC)
- I am donating a QPQ: Template:Did you know nominations/The Music Machine. I would prefer that you succeed in this effort. Welcome back! 7&6=thirteen (☎) 20:17, 7 February 2016 (UTC)
- Ere! I wrote this article starting 9 days ago! Who is Red Sunset and of what account are his or her "contributions"!!! Eddaido (talk) 23:58, 7 February 2016 (UTC)
- Sorry to tread on your toes Eddaido, I didn't intend to steal your thunder. Sincere apologies, but I just thought the article deserved a DYK and evidently didn't go about it the right way! I'm more than happy for you to take full credit for it. Red Sunset 18:38, 8 February 2016 (UTC)
- Eddaido, Added you as a creator. You can both be co-creators. Not a Zero sum game. Neither of you had to do a QPQ, and you both get the benefit of a DYK. Thanks for improving the article. 7&6=thirteen (☎) 18:49, 8 February 2016 (UTC)

Please use Earwig's report, and make sure to clean up all of the close paraphrasing. The review on this article has not been completed. 7&6=thirteen (☎) 18:55, 8 February 2016 (UTC)
- Now fully "earwigged". BTW, if successful I'd rather you attributed the DYK to Eddaido since he was the originating editor - the main thing as far as I'm concerned is that the article gets noticed by a wider audience and attracts other editors to expand and improve the article.:) Red Sunset 20:17, 8 February 2016 (UTC)
- Not quite sure what the above means but then I'm a foreigner who just grew up with Ford-Fergusons and the first Banner Lane product and was made a little angry to see the article was a redirect to woodland, if you please. About this nomination. I was just startled by events. May I say it has happened to me that I have landed on someone else's new article and made changes without looking to see it was in fact all new and a work in progress. I will add that some of the new angles put forward are, I think, incorrect and perhaps sources dubious. I'll wait until R S and co are done and come back for fixes - if still necessary. thanks, Eddaido (talk) 22:40, 8 February 2016 (UTC)

- You are the nominator and independently would get recognition as such. And you did contribute to the article (just clearing out the close paraphrasing was a real service). I will make sure that Eddaido is credited as a creator. So, no worries.
