Ale Ahmad Suroor edit

  • Comment: As of now I don't have any prior DYK credit. Hook is in "Indian English".

Created by Human3015 (talk). Self-nominated at 18:31, 8 October 2015 (UTC).

  • The article is new enough (created on 5 October 2015‎, nominated 3 days later). It is just long enough (1568 characters). As a British English speaker, there are a number of jarring sentences that just seem (to me at least) to be grammatically wrong or missing words; but as you have said it is written in Indian English and that is fine. It is written neurally and uses inline citations from reliable sources.
One thing you may want to change is the philosophy of Suroor section. You have paraphrased what he has said about criticism and also about the sword vs lancet bit. It might be better to not have this paraphrased and instead to simply quote what he has said. Eg "he states that criticism takes help of science but criticism is not science rather it is branch of literature" would become he states: "Criticism takes the help of science but it is not a science; it is a branch of literature".
The hook is of a good length (93 characters). The article content on which it is based is referenced with inline citations. The hook is interesting and formatted correctly.
QPQ needed as the nominator/author now has 5 DYKs.
You don't have to do what I recommended above, but it would make the article read better when it is linked from the main page. Also, any extra information you can add to bulk out the article would be great (it is just long enough at the moment).
Once QPQ has been done, I will be happy to okay this. Gaia Octavia Agrippa Talk 17:02, 7 November 2015 (UTC)
@Gaia Octavia Agrippa: thanks for your nice review. I have reviewed Template:Did you know nominations/Kenichi Marumo, also done some improvement in Suroor's philosophy, article now has 1881 characters in prose. --Human3015TALK  02:30, 9 November 2015 (UTC)
@Human3015:, you need to change the {{subst:DYKtick}} to a {{subst:DYKtickAGF}} because of the foreign language sources used to cite the Kenichi Marumo hook? It's not common to give QPQ when an editor 'piggybacks' off anouthers users review, bu given that User:Jakec hadn't finished the review after more than 2 weeks, I will okay it this time. I will okay this once you have changed the symbol on your QPQ. Gaia Octavia Agrippa Talk 11:30, 9 November 2015 (UTC)
@Gaia Octavia Agrippa: Hi, I'm sorry, it was in my mind to change {{subst:DYKtick}} to {{subst:DYKtickAGF}} but it is now promoted before I could do it. 😓 . Now what we can do? I think you can use {{subst:DYKtickAGF}} here instead of {{subst:DYKtick}}. Cheers. --Human3015TALK  01:28, 10 November 2015 (UTC)
Nothing can be done now. This DYK is good to go! Gaia Octavia Agrippa Talk 09:26, 10 November 2015 (UTC)
