Degenerate Art auction

    • Comment: The names of the artists can be adapted. The source for the dollars (the currency I prefer for the hook) is in a book which I can't access online, so I provide an online source for Swiss francs and Reichsmark which was also not much at the time.

  • I am starting to review this (very interesting!) article.
New enough, long enough: yes. I would prefer Alt2, but the link to the source does not work? Also; it would be great with a commons-cat, and a picture of one or two of the pictures featured in the auction? Say, The Bride of the Wind or Fate of the Animals?
Also, Gauguin is mentioned in the hook, but not in the article? I was looking at his The sorcerer of Hiva Oa, which would be a very nice illustration in the article, Huldra (talk) 23:13, 17 December 2021 (UTC)
I have adapted the DYK per your suggestion, but to me it is still a mystery how to involve the image in the hook.Paradise Chronicle (talk) 01:05, 18 December 2021 (UTC)
I have removed the image again. As to me the focus should be on the auction and not on a specific painting.Paradise Chronicle (talk) 03:05, 19 December 2021 (UTC)
  • Huldra, are you planning to return to your review here, or should I request a new reviewer? Thanks. BlueMoonset (talk) 02:57, 29 December 2021 (UTC)
  • User:BlueMoonset; I am very sorry, the holiday season got me "off track". Yes, I am very definitely continuing this review. Also; I think the way it is now; with pictures at the end of the article, but not a part of the hook is fine, cheers, Huldra (talk) 21:38, 29 December 2021 (UTC)
  • No copy-right problems, hook Alt 2 verfied in source (except Picasso, and I AGF that is in Barron p.143). The article Bathers with a Turtle should possibly be linked from the article? It was sold to Joseph Pulitzer Jr. But even without that; I think this is:
  • good to go with Alt2, Huldra (talk) 22:35, 29 December 2021 (UTC)
Picasso is in the source of La Boverie provided also for hook ALT2.Paradise Chronicle (talk) 22:44, 29 December 2021 (UTC)
Yes, you are right. I have no idea as to how I managed to miss that. Anyway, even without the La Boverie source it is very easy to find sources for Picasso's inclusion in the auction, Huldra (talk) 23:10, 29 December 2021 (UTC)
Modified ALT2 to T:DYK/P2
