Zoom Records was formed in 1977 by Bruce Findlay of Bruces Record Shops and was independently funded for it's first four singles.In 1978 Bruce secured a licencing deal with Arista Records which allowed him to sign Simple Minds to Zoom.This arrangement ended in 1980 after three albums and Bruce then 'folded' the label to concentrate on managing Simple Minds who then signed to Virgin Records where Bruce and the band enjoyed an amazingly enjoyable and fruitful ten years.
