I just can't believe Microsoft wouldn't gather many profits from anything they ever put their hands on, as this article states in its 1st paragraph. I mean, maybe their revenue went a few million dollars less than expected, but they considered it a hit anyway, they wouldn't make a sequel if it wasn't.

Therefore, I think such a statement need references.

Move to Wikibooks

I was looking through guidelines, and I found that lists of objects are not supposed to be included in Wikipedia articles. And Zoo Tycoon 2 has about 20! They need to be transwikied, just wondering if anyone had any suggestions or comments before I moved them.

Asiatic Black Bear

The Asiatic Black Bear is not a part of the PC game, and is already mentioned in the paragraph text of the Downloads section...please do not add it to the list anymore...at very least, discuss the issue here. This constant edit waring is tiring. As a result, any changes made concerning the Asiatic Bear will result in a "3RR" warning being issued.Blipadouzi 19:08, 4 March 2007 (UTC)

Expansion Pack box arts

At the expansion pack articles, it has a picture of the box art for the regular Zoo Tycoon 2, but not the expansion packs. Should it be that way? KdogDS 22:26, 17 August 2006 (UTC)

Marine Mania Animals

Why on the Marine mania article does it show some animals, and on the Zoo Tycoon 2 article it says that the animals cannot be confirmed due to BETA testing? I fixed this.

People vandalicing this article and expansion ones...

I mean, in recent times, people has been adding random animals to the bonus downloads section, giving false hope to users, and giving bad reputation to Wikipedia. I suggest Protection of the article.-Eriorguez

Ambient animals?

I'm very interested in them. Anyways, they are the animals that are wild and appear on various maps randomly. Like the birds that occasionally fly overhead. The springhare is very realistic (try looking for it on a desert map). Dora Nichov 09:22, 15 January 2007 (UTC)

Bonus Animals

does anyone KNOW how to obtain those bonus animals?because I've never heard any of those animals at all in the game.

All of the animals in the game are real. To download the animals (except the addax), click on "Downloads" on the main menu. For the addax, go to www.zootycoon2.com and go to the "Downloads" section of the website. Click on "Patches" and install the patch. YOU MUST DO THIS BEFORE DOWNLOADING THE ADDAX! Nah, they probably aren't variant skins. If they were skins, they'd normally show up the moment you bought the animals. I've had a Croc that was normal to begin with, but turned transparent for no explainable reason. It might be because it had a glitch or sumthin. Or maybe Zoo Tycoon 2 was supposed to have ghost animals, and when the idea was abandoned, they simply dumped it somewhere where it was unlikely to be found, but could be picked up when they needed it. 98 Animals (thus far)

Whoever is vandalising the section saying that there are 97 kinds of animal, stop it. There are 98. It is blatantly obvious in the game itself, and it doesn't matter if two are the same species...kind and species are not the same. I mean, there are three varieties species of tiger in ZT1 (and two of those are varieties of the same sub-species), but nobody denies that there are 45 kinds of animal there (120 if you include all the official EXP packs/downloads). Just accept it.

Nobody cares. There are 98 animals in the game and that is that. It'd be like the kind of person who rants to the nearest zoo keeper just because their collection holds three subspecies of the same parrot. Zoo Tycoon 1 had three versions of the one species of Tiger (and, indeed, two versions of one subspecies of it), but no one rants and raves about that. They didn't even interbreed like the Masai and Reticulated Giraffes did. Most of the zoo simulation games have at least one species which has two or more different subspecies or varieties, and no one complains about that. Seriously, you need to stop vandalising. -It's called "Pointless" and, to a lesser degree, "Being childish", especially as you refuse to drop it. So what if they are the same species? Try visiting a real zoo. It isn't worth screaming, raving and crying about. Treat them as seperate animals and stop treating us ZT2 fans as if we were two years old. Lion Feeding?

Under Trivia, someone added that guests can be fed to lions. I've tried twice, and I haven't any luck, so I'm beginning to think it's a prank/joke/whatever. But as I've only tried twice, I can't really confirm whether it's true. Yengkit19 07:01, 31 May 2007 (UTC)

The user objects section of this page is being vandilised. Earlier someone edited it to say 'Some Famous meshers who Have sucessfully meshed Zoo tycoon 2 animals include Simba,Penguinman, Littlemog, etc. One of the Best os Simba's mustang'. WP:VG assessment

I assessed this article as low-importance, as it's not a particularly important game, another game in the series has been rated low (which solidifies this impression) and the article itself doesn't suggest otherwise. Arguably more important is the fact I'm not going to promote it from start-class. Here's why:

• Extreme lack of sources. See WP:CITE, and look for sources from sites such as GameSpot and IGN to back up the information.
• The list of animals is unencyclopedic and better suited to a game guide rather than an encyclopedia article.
• Gameplay needs more wikilinks.
• The "bonus downloads" section could be merged into the "expansion" section. If it's taken out of its current list format (tables/lists aren't particularly encyclopedic) you could probably summarise it in a short paragraph.
• You don't need to have a separate section for each game mode: that's a common mistake. You could probably mention the differences in a single paragraph without losing the information.
• Fair use rationales are needed for all images included in this article. See WP:FURG and look at other screenshot/game box images from features articles to get an idea of what to do here.
• Critical reception section is missing. Look at some featured articles to see what to do for this section.
• Development section is missing. Again, look at some examples in other articles.
• Competition section has POV issues and seems to be entirely original research. Get hold of reliable sources to back it up, or delete it.
• The lead is in need of some major work. See WP:LS and remember that the lead section is meant to summarise the entire article.
