editThorough and informative article. Mostly only grammatical corrections needed. I think once the references are inserted -wikipedia style- in the 'Defining the MCT' sections they will flow better, there is no need to include semi-colons or connecting words in list formats, and there are a few hyphenated words that shouldn't be. I would also like to see a little more of an explanation for the images, especially figure 3; what exactly is this figure telling us about the timing of the MCT?

editGreat page so far, I like how you are breaking up the topic and explaining everything in steps. So I only noticed a few things that need improvement 1) fix the references you make in the page (correctly cite the articles the need for author name et all and year is unnecessary) and 2) try to explain the figures in more detail. The figures look great on the page but try to elaborate in them and reference them more on you page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by T.J.Hebert (talk • contribs) 03:26, 14 October 2014 (UTC)

edit- My first issue is a serious one in that you have copied chunks of text from other sources. From the paper "Cenozoic tectonic history of the Himachal Himalaya (northwestern India) and its constraints on the formation mechanism of the Himalayan orogen" I see you have copied the bits starting "Nonetheless, for the Himachal Himalaya most workers" and "thick that was active in the Early and Middle Miocene". There is probably more that you have copied too. Text like this must be written in your own words and not just copied and pasted into a Wikipedia page. This is not only against the Wikipedia rules, but is a copyright infringement, and is probably academic misconduct. So I recommend that you rewrite it. Otherwise such text will be removed by others or the page deleted.
- Is your page going to be Main Central Thrust or Himalayan Orogen?
- Don't abbreviate the names of faults or units as this is an encyclopedia. Our readers really need the full name of the structure because they will not spend a large part of their life studying or using the name and therefore need to shorten it.
- To make a numbered list in Wikipedia start each line with the # symbol. However it would be even better to just write these as sentences. You can use words like firstly, secondly, ...
- Each of the three kinematic models needs far more explanation in the text.
- There should be a lot more internal wiki links [[Sutlej River]] giving Sutlej River. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 20:48, 24 October 2014 (UTC)
