Talk:Yarchen Gar

Latest comment: 1 year ago by Zacanger in topic Reputable sources

I visited in December, 2018 and made some edits to the article based on personal observations.

edit

My observations were that the community has expanded and improved facilities for visitors, and the police checkpoint appears to be more of a formality than a barrier to entry. I was told that people from Larung Gar are continuing to relocate here. Religious practice is flourishing. I saw a couple of sick people coming there to be cured.

I'm rather amazed that Wikipedia rates this article as "low importance." The biggest Buddhist sangha in the world? Really?

Huge human rights violations underplayed in article

edit

Hi. The level of violations and persecutions of nuns and monks are much deeper than the article suggests. I suggest select edits and additional RS. Pasdecomplot (talk) 12:00, 14 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Stop reverts and discuss dispute

edit

Please. The reverts are deleting reports of cultural cleansing in Tibet. Pasdecomplot (talk) 17:01, 11 September 2020 (UTC) [a late direct ping @CaradhrasAiguo at 21:19 11 September 2020 (UTC)]Reply

Photo and notes

edit

Just added a photo. Also, recently added better RS and text to page, reedited own text, tried to respect previous edits, did not delete any sources or RS. Give a ping if there's an issue or to talk. Thanks. Pasdecomplot (talk) 20:04, 23 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

Copy edit/rewrite

edit

The article was tagged for copy editing so I did that, plus rearranged a few things, but since this is a sensitive area - and one I'm not very familiar with - I'm tagging the user who added the template (MarkH21) in case they want to evaluate the changes. Reputable sources

edit

I'm not going to delete sections that only use disreputable sources, because that would mean reducing this article to a stub, but if anyone has reputable sources I urge you to please add them. TibetPolicy and other CTA sources are not reputable and if they remain, those sentences need to be changed (example: '... according to Tibetan government-in-exile media').
