If someone knows more about this unknown, but surely remarkable tower he or she should add it to the article:

  • when was Wusung Radio Tower exactly built?
  • Is it still standing?
  • Which was/is its task? ( I suppose longwave or VLF-transmission)
  • To which facility does or did it belong? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Vakarel (talkcontribs) 16:27, March 18, 2008 (UTC)

Notability is given without doubt, as it was when completed, world's second tallest man-made structure. It should be not forgotten, that it may be not easy to get more information of it, as it may be part of a military facility for example for transmitting orders to submarines in VLF-range. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.46.212.14 (talkcontribs) 11:33, December 1, 2008 (UTC)

Did some digging, there were over 40+ radio stations in Shanghai in that period, could be any of them. But I was not able to find reference to such tower. It might be military.

Also the Chinese article zh:上海电报局 which is on Shanghai Telegraph Bureau, has no mention of it. Japanese took over Shanghai in 1937, so it might also be Japanese military radio/radar tower. --Voidvector (talk) 00:40, 4 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
