Storyline, Characters, & Themes

edit

There is a brief reference to Wormy's themes on the David A. Trampier page, but none here, and nothing about the storyline in either. Most of the original panels are available on the wayback link, and it would be good for someone to add some summary of these here, along with a brief description of each of the main characters. Trampier made clever use of dialect, with the cyclops and his one-eyed dog sounding like Louisiana swamp dwellers, and others displaying Britishisms and other distinctive locutions. The scene where a troll imprisoned for use in wargames questions the value of playing such games when it comes at such a great cost was a not very subtle challenge to the value of gaming itself, at least when it's taken too far, and this epitomized one of the most unique features of Wormy. Not sure I'm up to it, but I hope somebody else who remembers this powerful comic strip can do this. Wormy was incredibly innovative, and dared to go where few others would. — ScottForschler (talk) 13:19, 19 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

Disappearance

edit

First off, kudos to Neptune's Trident for creating this article. Second, should his abrupt disappearance from Dragon be mentioned here? I know it's covered in Tramp's article, but I think a sentence or two is appropriate here too since his disappearance is directly related (chronologically) to Wormy. I see that Neptune's Trident has added it now. Bueno! — Frεcklεfσσt | Talk 18:16, 12 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
