Lamp on a post
editI've noticed a single work light in several movie scenes showing empty stages. This lamp is center stage, slightly downstage of middle. It is a tall post with a bare bulb at the top, plugged into an outlet on the stage floor. Is this just a fluke of these movies, or is it standard practice to leave such a bulb burning on an empty stage? If so, is this to provide necessary lighting, or is it theatrical superstition?
