Hi, I'm pretty sure "Wobulator" is acutally written "Wobbulator", perhaps someone could check and/or change it.

I'm pretty sure of it as well, I just don't know how to replace the title "(--Rosswood40 (talk) 16:11, 17 October 2009 (UTC)

Alternate spelling

The spelling Wobulator (capitalized) was used in the closed-captioning of "Masters of Sound", a 12-minute "DVD extra" on Doctor Who: The Beginning, BBC, 2006, DVD (region 1), UPC code 8-83929-31047-0, disk #3 "The Edge of Destruction". davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 16:57, 4 October 2014 (UTC)

I'm not sure any of this is correct

Many WWII-era documents refer to wobbulators in the context of radar systems. These were used to randomly adjust the frequency of the broadcast signal in order to make it impossible for the Germans to broadcast false signals on the same frequency. I don't believe it was ever used as a trade name as claimed here. Maury Markowitz (talk) 16:19, 11 November 2014 (UTC)

'Sweep generator' = professional term?

I don't think this is the case. It's more of a WP:ENGVAR thing, with 'wobbulator' being the common term among British techs and 'sweep generator' being more common in the US (and yes, I know the original Wobbulator was American).

It seems odd that there are separate articles for the two terms, as they are essentially the same thing. --Ef80 (talk) 19:51, 20 February 2015 (UTC)
