I'll get to this shortly.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 02:06, 7 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

  • No DABs, external links OK
  • Images appropriately licensed
  • Can a few more photos be added? Preferably one of the Japanese ships that were perceived as the threat and another of some of the responding aircraft?
    • Oddly enough, there's a real lack of usable images for this topic. The Australian War Memorial has few photos of military units undertaking defensive tasks in Australia during 1944, and those for the relevant US and Japanese vessels can't be confirmed as PD. I've added a map and a photo of a ship which played a relatively prominent role. Nick-D (talk) 10:45, 10 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
      • Japanese ships are almost always covered by PD-Japan-oldphoto which uses the date of the photograph to judge copyright, so I expect that you could add a photo of one of them without much difficulty if you chose to. I really wasn't expecting photos from the exact time period covered by the article, but rather photos of aircraft or ships from about the right time.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 20:53, 10 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
        • Thanks for that advice - I've added a photo of a Japanese ship where the PD claim seems feasible. Nick-D (talk) 22:25, 10 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
  • A couple of overlinks.
  • Link Indian Ocean. Prime Minister (both). anti-aircraft gun, coast defense guns, Ranks in general, Eastern Fleet, Australian Chiefs of Staff Committee, radar, coast watching, anti-aircraft machine gun
    • I've linked most of them. I'd rather not link the terms PM or ranks, as this looks clunky - and is unnecessary given that the links to the people then include links to the position. Nick-D (talk) 10:45, 10 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
  • US Navy submarine USS Haddo UN Navy and USS seem a bit redundant. Pick one or the other.
  • Be sure to tell what type of aircraft they are on first mention, forex PBY Catalinas
  • Same with ships. Warship is too vague.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 03:01, 9 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
    • Done where referring to a specific ship (most times this term is used here it's referring to a group of vessels, or when the Allies weren't sure what kind of ships they'd detected were). Thanks a lot for these comments. Nick-D (talk) 10:45, 10 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
      • Promoting now in anticipation of you sorting out the photo issue.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 20:53, 10 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
